Abstract:
This article addresses uncommon primary spinal cord tumors, neoplasms of the conus medullaris, filum terminale, cauda equina region, and secondary neoplastic involvement of the spinal cord and CSF spaces. Although many primary intramedullary tumors discussed are individually rare, secondary neoplastic disease, including intramedullary metastases and leptomeningeal dissemination is encountered more frequently in clinical practice and represents a major cause of rapidly progressive neurological symptoms. Imaging appearances across these entities often overlap with common primary tumors and non-neoplastic mimics, limiting diagnostic specificity.
