Abstract:
Fenestrated endovascular repair using physician-modified endografts has become an important treatment option for complex abdominal aortic aneurysms, although long-term graft durability data remain limited. We present a unique postmortem evaluation of a physician-modified endograft implanted for a juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm as part of an Investigational Device Exemption trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT01538056). Postmortem examination demonstrated no evidence of stent fracture, graft migration, or structural failure. The graft remained well incorporated within the aortic neck with preserved fixation and seal. These findings provide the first reported human postmortem evidence supporting the durability of a physician-modified Terumo Aortic TREO endograft.
