Abstract:
Linkage disequilibrium (LD) plays a foundational role in understanding the genetic structure of human populations, offering crucial information about their demographic history, population structure and evolution. In this study, we identified a distinct HLA haplotype in a kidney transplant pair of Indonesian ancestry using high-resolution next-generation sequencing (NGS) during evaluation in Saudi Arabia. The HLA typing was performed using the One Lambda AllType NGS 11 Loci Amplification kit (One Lambda, USA). The donor and recipient, as siblings, were found to share the same infrequently documented haplotype A*24:07~C*07:04~B*18:01~DRB5*01:08N~DRB1*15:02~DQA1*06:01~DQB1*03:01~DPA1*02:02~DPB1*02:02:01G. This haplotype represents a DRB1*15:02~DQB1*03:01 association that appears to be distinctive to Southeast Asian populations.
