Abstract:
In 2026, three high-throughput sequencing platforms approached the widely publicised sub-$100 30× human genome. Behind these figures, which reflect consumable prices rather than total cost of ownership, the more consequential shift is the end of single-vendor dominance: these systems make comprehensive genomic profiling and multi-omic liquid biopsy feasible in small batches.
