Abstract:
Chordoma is an ultra-rare bone sarcoma of notochordal origin (incidence 1/1 000 000/year). Complete resection with negative margins remains the treatment of choice. We report a 78-year-old male with low back pain and a sacrococcygeal mass. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a 75 mm lobulated tumor involving distal sacrum and adjacent soft tissues without visceral invasion. After multidisciplinary evaluation, surgery was indicated and a posterior oncological resection with sacral osteotomy (S4-S5) was performed. Pathology confirmed chordoma with negative margins. Sacral chordoma poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to its infiltrative growth pattern and proximity to pelvic structures. Complete in bloc resection remains the cornerstone of treatment. This case highlights the importance of multidisciplinary management of a rare disease.

Somatic Spinal Reflexes
One of the most well-known somatic spinal reflexes is the stretch reflex, which is activated by the sudden stretching of a muscle. This reflex involves the activation of specialized sensory receptors called muscle spindles, which are located in the muscle tissue and detect changes in the length and speed of muscle contractions. When a muscle is suddenly...
