Abstract:
Focused ultrasound (FUS) enables non-invasive, spatially precise modulation of biological tissues. This protocol describes assembly, calibration, and implementation of a diagnostic ultrasound-guided FUS (dUS-FUS) platform for real-time targeting of superficial and deep tissues in small-animal models. We demonstrate reversible sciatic nerve modulation in a rat acute pain model and assess sensory and motor functions using behavioral tests. The platform provides a reproducible workflow for image-guided tissue modulation and can be adapted to diverse preclinical applications. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Sangwan et al.1,2.

Ultrasound I: Abdominal Ultrasonography
Abdominal ultrasonography, commonly known as abdominal ultrasound, is a vital, non-invasive medical imaging technique widely used in healthcare.
Procedure:
This diagnostic tool allows the clinician to visually inspect internal structures within the abdomen, including vital organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen.
The abdominal ultrasound process begins with applying a special gel to the patient's skin over the abdomen. This gel enhances the...
