Abstract:
We present a genome assembly of Russula nigricans (Blackening Brittlegill; Basidiomycota; Agaricomycetes; Russulales; Russulaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 44.21 megabases and 45.01 megabases. Haplotypes 1 and 2 each contain 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules; these account for 99.88% of haplotype 1 and all of haplotype 2. The mitochondrial genome has been assembled, with a length of 54.23 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 13,918 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
