Abstract:
Drawing on historical and current nosology, this narrative synthesis advances a dimensional account of mood disorders. Integrative data implicate alterations of stress-induced neuroplasticity, immune-metabolic signaling, and brain networks, yielding signatures across different psychopathological disorders. Finally, we propose a comprehensive approach to improve phenotyping, symptoms' assessment, track change, and inform treatment within a transdiagnostic, biology-informed model.
