Abstract:
We report a mild and general strategy for the cofixation of NH3 and CO2 via cyclic diarylchloronium salt-triggered ring-opening bifunctionalization of unstrained cyclic amines. This method employs readily available aqueous NH3 and CO2 as nitrogen and carbon feedstocks, delivering valuable carbamates bearing free amino groups (-NH2) in high yields with regiospecificity. Notably, this methodology enables the use of dilute CO2 for the construction of functionalized carbamates, highlighting its potential for waste gas valorization.
