Abstract:
A patient bitten by a snake native to Switzerland, which is potentially venomous, often represents a source of stress for physicians due to lack of knowledge regarding the appropriate management. This is a situation we are regularly confronted with in Valais, which is why a management protocol has been developed over the past 15 years. We propose to further support and update this protocol in light of a review of more than 60 cases of viper bites managed in a hospital setting over the past 20 years.
