Abstract:
From the roots of Heterosmilax yunnanensis Gagnep., ten lignans were isolated, including six previously undescribed compounds (1-6) and four known compounds (7-10). Structurally, compounds 1 and 3 are novel examples of lignan-amino acid adducts in nature. The other compounds are all lignan glucosides. Their planar structures were elucidated through detailed spectroscopic information, while their stereo-structures were determined using CD, quantum chemical calculations, and Marfey's method. Among the isolates, compound 3 displayed notable cytoprotection against APAP-induced loss of cell viability in HepG2 cells, together with compounds 7 and 8, highlighting its potential for further study.
