Abstract:
A concealed penis is a congenital anomaly: a phallus of normal size buried within prepubic and scrotal tissue. Conventional repair uses penile, penopubic, or combined scrotal-penile incisions with circumferential degloving, risking lymphoedema, poor cosmesis, and delayed healing. We describe a single 2-cm scrotal incision technique for degloving and Buck's fascia fixation, avoiding a separate penile or suprapubic incision. Tethering dartos bands are divided, redundant fat is excised, and the penopubic and penoscrotal junctions are anchored to Buck's fascia. Circumcision is performed in all patients. This study evaluated the safety and effectiveness of a single scrotal incision technique for a concealed penis.
