Abstract:
Objective: To conduct a bibliometric and visualization analysis of research on mushroom poisoning in China, to outline the development trajectory of this field, and to summarize cutting-edge research hotspots, so as to provide a reference for future related research. Methods: In January 2025, literature on mushroom poisoning published from 1949 to 2024 and indexed in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data was retrieved for bibliometric analysis. CiteSpace 6.3.R1 and VOSviewer 1.6.20 were used to generate visualization maps of authors, research institutions, and keywords. Results: A total of 567 articles were included, with the first relevant article published in 1978 and the annual number of publications peaking in 2019. Ten journals, including the Chinese Journal of Food Hygiene, were the main sources of publications in this field. Research institutions in Yunnan Province had the highest total number of publications, while the degree of collaboration among institutions was relatively low. Keyword clustering analysis showed that the core research topics included investigation and surveillance of poisoning incidents, epidemiological analysis, identification of poisonous mushroom species, and toxin detection. Keyword burst analysis indicated that "molecular identification" was the latest research hotspot. Conclusion: Research on mushroom poisoning in China has achieved certain results in epidemiological investigation, species identification, and toxin detection. In the future, collaboration among research institutions should be further strengthened and the depth of research continuously expanded.
