Abstract:
This article reviews emerging PET radiopharmaceuticals in late preclinical and early clinical development. The discussed tracers have broad applications for disease staging, theranostic patient selection, and treatment monitoring. For oncology, tracers targeting fibroblast activation protein, prostate-specific membrane antigen, delta-like ligand 3, trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2, claudin 18.2, and amino-acid transporters are highlighted alongside immune-targeted tracers imaging cluster of differentiation proteins, the programmed death-1 receptor and ligand, granzyme B, and macrophages. In neurology, tracers targeting amyloid-beta, tau, translocator protein, and synaptic vesicle protein 2A are discussed. Highlighted cardiology tracers focus on imaging of myocardial perfusion, amyloidosis, and vascular inflammation.

Fundamental Principles of PET
Positron Emission Tomography
One of the main requirements of a PET scan is a positron-emitting radioisotope, which is produced in a cyclotron and then attached to a substance used by the part of the body being...
Radiological Investigation III: Pulmonary Angiogram and PET Scan
Pulmonary Angiogram
A Pulmonary Angiogram is an invasive procedure involving injecting a contrast medium through a catheter threaded into the pulmonary artery or the right side of the heart to visualize the pulmonary vasculature. Computed Tomography (CT) scans have mainly replaced this...
