Abstract:
Oligodendrocyte is a highly specialized myelin-forming glial cell in the central nervous system (CNS). A lentiviral method that selectively transduces primary oligodendrocytes will enable genetic manipulation of oligodendrocyte-expressing proteins in an in vitro setting, allowing researchers to more precisely interrogate the role that cell-type-specific proteins play in regulating oligodendrocyte lineage progression and function in a defined model system. Here, we will describe the selective transduction of primary oligodendrocyte precursor cells using an established lentiviral approach.
