Abstract:
Nursing care delivery changes have often been reactive responses to workforce shortages, financial pressures, and emerging technologies rather than intentional, evidence-based redesign. This context underscores the need to move beyond adapting legacy care models toward creating new models built around contemporary patient, human capital, community, and organizational needs. Guided by the Quintuple Aim, nurse leaders must define desired outcomes and establish meaningful measures of value. They must also partner across disciplines to design, test, and evaluate sustainable nurse-led care models that improve population health, patient experience, cost of care, clinician well-being, and health disparities.
