Abstract:
Despite their ultrahigh theoretical energy density, lithium-oxygen (Li-O2) batteries are limited by sluggish reaction kinetics and poor cycling stability. Herein, CoTe2@MoS2 core-shell heterojunction nanorods are developed as efficient bifunctional cathode catalysts. The heterointerfaces simultaneously accelerate interfacial charge transfer and promote highly selective Li2O2 electrochemistry, as confirmed by in situ DEMS and ex situ measurements. As a result, the cathodes exhibit small voltage gaps, superior reversible specific capacities, satisfactory rate capability, and long cycle life.
