Abstract:
Sleep is foundational to cognitive and physiologic health, yet clinical management often relies on generalized approaches that do not fully account for individual sleep architecture. This article examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into personalized sleep medicine. By ingesting multimodal data streams, AI automates the process of clinical data review and drives closed-loop systems beyond static protocols toward neuromodulation that is responsive to the individual's physiologic state. Consumer wearable devices and conversational AI further extend these approaches beyond the laboratory, enabling continuous at-home monitoring, personalized support, and a broader care framework linking patients, computational systems, and clinicians.
