Abstract:
Assessment tables for the consequences of accidents in private accident insurance represent consensus recommendations from professional organizations. They have no binding normative effect but serve to standardize expert practice. In this article, the Section for Medical Expert Assessment introduces the recommended values of the professional organization DGOU (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie, or the German Society for Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery). A distinction is made between disability ratings for primary and secondary consequences of accidents. For secondary consequences of accidents surcharges may be calculated on a subsumptive basis.
