[Modification of Michaelson's method for determination of bilirubin in serum]

A modification of Michaelson's method is described, with the use of small quantities serum and reagents and subsequent readings on the apparatus Spekol with camera EK-5, widely applied in our country. A higher percentage content of direct bilirubin was determined. Comparative assessments were carried out of the results of bilirubin quantity, determined according to the method described on one hand and the method of Jendrasik on the other hand, and the direct method for bilirubin determination in newborn, elaborated at the Zovanzo Clinic--Lyon.
