Hallucinatory and delusional states in connection with blood pressure and EEG
Abstract:
Twenty-two patients who had low blood pressure with hallucinatory and delusional states were examined. Nineteen cases showed low voltage fast waves in EEG. By treatment with haloperidol the symptoms as well as the blood pressure and EEG showed improvement. From the above findings, the hallucinatory and delusional states observed in this study may have a close connection with dysfunction of the lower brain or disharmony of function between the upper and the lower brains.
