Wives' evaluation of problems related to laryngectomy
Journal of Communication Disorders
|September 1, 1979
Abstract:
Previous questionnaire studies of problems after laryngectomy have been directed toward the patients. In this study, 45 wives of laryngectomees were surveyed regarding their prior understanding of laryngeal surgery. The wives were also asked questions pertaining to health and physical care, and financial and social problems encountered after the operation. The survey results indicate a need for improved family counseling both before and after surgery.
