Abstract:
The authors report on difficulties in ophthalmoscopac differential diagnosis of fundus changes due to arteriosclerosis and hypertension. An attempt is made to present a classification of hypertensive alterations which -- in close association with the scheme published by Keith, Wagner and Neubauer -- uses the same descriptive terms but restricts itself to distinguish between changes of the vascular system on the one hand and changes of the parenchym as a consequence of the vascular changes on the other hand.
