    Summary

    Lithium compounds may trigger or worsen psoriasis in some individuals. Skin lesions improved after discontinuing lithium treatment, suggesting a causal link.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the potential link between lithium compound treatment and the development or exacerbation of psoriasis.

    • Observational study of 12 new psoriasis cases and 3 exacerbated cases during lithium treatment.
    • Clinical and histological examination of skin lesions.
    • Lithium withdrawal and re-challenge (provocation test) in some patients.
