    Summary

    Rubella infection causes temporary immune system abnormalities, including decreased white blood cells and T cells, and impaired immune responses. These changes may explain the risk of congenital rubella syndrome in pregnant women.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the immunological changes associated with rubella infection in patients.
    • To assess the transient nature of these immune alterations and their potential link to embryopathy.

    • Conducted immunological tests on 85 patients diagnosed with rubella.
    • Assessed levels of leukocytes, neutrophils, T cells, IgG, and complement components (C4, C9, CH50).
