Abstract:
Abnormal laboratory findings and abnormal functional and morphologic findings of the bile duct are infrequent in silent stones, and the course and prognosis are favorable in the cases of silent stones with no such abnormalities. These cases can therefore be followed up internally, but because onset becomes frequent in the prolonged follow-up, early operation is mandatory when the laboratory study shows any abnormality.
