    Summary

    Argon laser photocoagulation successfully treated choroidal neovascularization and macular detachment secondary to benign choroidal nevi. This intervention preserved good visual acuity in affected patients.

    Background:

    • Benign choroidal nevi are typically asymptomatic vascular tumors of the choroid.
    • Complications such as choroidal neovascularization (CNV) are rare but can lead to significant vision loss.

    Observation:

    • Three patients with benign choroidal nevi presented with secondary choroidal neovascularization and associated macular detachment.
    • Clinical examination and imaging confirmed the presence of neovascular membranes originating from or associated with the nevi.

    Findings:

    • Argon laser photocoagulation was employed to target and obliterate the neovascular membranes in all three cases.
    • Post-treatment follow-up demonstrated successful closure of the neovascularization in the treated areas.
