    Background:

    • Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a significant global health concern.
    • Understanding the cellular mechanisms driving OSCC invasion is critical for effective treatment.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the role of acid phosphatase in the invasiveness of oral squamous cell carcinoma cells.
    • To localize the activity of acid phosphatase within OSCC cells.

    Main Methods:

    • Cytochemical staining of surgical specimens of OSCC using Gomori's substrate to detect acid phosphatase activity.
    • Microscopic analysis to identify the localization of the reaction product within cancer cells.
