    Area of Science:

    • Dermatology
    • Oral Medicine
    • Pathology

    Background:

    • Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition.
    • Oral manifestations of psoriasis are rare but documented.
    • This case highlights a unique presentation of oral psoriasis.

    Observation:

    • A 47-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of skin and oral lesions.
    • Skin lesions were diagnosed as psoriasis.
    • Oral examination revealed extensive white, elevated, circinate lesions on the entire oral mucosa.

    Findings:

    • Biopsies of oral mucosa showed histological features similar to dermal psoriasis.
    • Anesthetic mouth rinses provided symptomatic relief.
    • Oral lesions showed improvement but persisted despite treatment.

    Implications:

    • This case suggests psoriasis can manifest significantly in the oral cavity.
    • Histological similarity supports psoriasis as the etiology of oral lesions.
    • Persistent oral lesions indicate a need for ongoing management and research into effective therapies.
