Thin needle biopsy as a routine method for rapid diagnosis of neoplasms

The present communication demonstrates the possibility of applying the "thin needle biopsy" as a routine method for rapid cytologic diagnosis of neoplasms. Systematically used in the examination of pulmonary, mammary, and thyroid tumors, the "thin needle biopsy" offers the following advantages: 1) decreased occurrence of so-called "false negative diagnoses"; 2) psychological relief for the patient; 3) decreased cost.
