Vibrations and predatory behaviour of Plectrocnemia larvae (Trichoptera)
Zeitschrift Fur Tierpsychologie
|September 1, 1977
Abstract:
This work analyses the effects of vibrations transmitted across the net on the predatory behaviour of the Plectrocnemia conspersa larvae (Trichoptera). The variations in the frequency has a more marked effect than variations in amplitude especially on the stage 2 (orientation and displacement towards the lure) and on the stage 3 (capture of the lure with mandibles).
