Prevalence of glaucoma in optometric patients under 40 years of age

A survey of 3,494 patients under 40, who were examined in an urban optometric center, showed that 0.4% of the sample had glaucoma and an additional 0.2% had suspected glaucoma. The clinical implications of glaucoma in persons under 40 are discussed.
