[C-cell tumors of the thyroid gland]

Morphological description of 59 C-cell tumours of the thyroid gland is presented. The C-cell tumours are very variable both cytologically and histologically and include monomorphocellular, spindlecellular, and polymorphocellular variants. Grimelius and Sevier-Munger argirophilic reactions are most suitable for histological diagnosis of apudomas of the thyroid gland. The epithelial genesis of C-cell tumours of the thyroid gland is suggested.
