Mouse mast cell sensitization with human IgG and allergen

The heterologous binding of human IgG to mouse peritoneal mast cells was studied in vitro. The specific percentage of mast cell degranulation after treatment with sera heated for 2 hours at 57 degrees C was determined. These sera were obtained from normal or allergic patients, skin test positive to grass mix or dust, and then challenged separately with each allergen. The results show a high performance of degranulation by anti-human IgG and a direct correlation between skin test positivity and high degranulation values.
