    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the seroprevalence of Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections in children and adults in Gharian and Derna, Libya.
    • To determine the age of infection for HAV and the epidemiological patterns of HBV in the studied population.

    • Serum samples were collected from residents of Gharian and Derna, Libya.
    • Radioimmunoassay (RIA) was used to detect antibodies against HAV and HBV.
