[Hemorrhagic secondary glaucoma after central venous thrombosis]
Abstract:
Patients suffering from neovascular glaucoma who had been treated at the First Vienna University Eye Clinic in the years 1966-1979 were analyzed recently in a retrospective study. The present paper concentrates on 144 cases of hemorrhagic secondary glaucoma after central venous thrombosis. It considers only those patients who had not undergone laser therapy prior to vascular occlusion. The items dealt with in detail are the clinical symptoms, the early and rapid loss of vision, the high intraocular pressure, the interval between the occurrence of the vascular occlusion and the neovascular glaucoma, the distribution among age groups and sexes and the relation to general diseases.
