Late-recurring calcifying adenoid cystic carcinoma. Report of a case

A recurring adenocystic carcinoma originating in the floor of the maxillary antrum in a 75-year-old man is described. The primary tumour had been surgically removed from the mucous membrane of the hard palate 22 years earlier. Histological examination showed deposits of calcification in the tumour tissue. The authors believe this feature to be a sign of the slow-growing variant of adenocystic carcinoma.
