    Background:

    • Migraine is a complex neurological disorder.
    • Endogenous opioid peptides, like beta-endorphin, play roles in pain and mood regulation.
    • Dysregulation of neurotransmitter systems is implicated in headache disorders.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate beta-endorphin levels in plasma of migraine patients.
    • To compare beta-endorphin levels during migraine attacks versus free periods.
    • To assess beta-endorphin levels in chronic headache sufferers.

    Main Methods:

    • Radioimmunoassay (RIA) method was used to measure plasma beta-endorphin.
    • Plasma samples were collected from migraine sufferers during attacks and in remission.
