    Summary

    Silica calculi in humans are rare, but this study found siliceous deposits in 3 of 180 human urinary stones. These findings suggest silica stones may be more common than previously believed.

    Background:

    • Silica calculi in humans are exceptionally rare, with only 12 documented cases.
