[Abdominal migration of intrauterine devices. Apropos of 4 devices removed using celioscopy]
Abstract:
The authors report four cases of abdominal migration of a Lippes Loop and describe the current features of the diagnostic approach and the essential role of ultrasound. They then discuss the therapeutic indications. In cases of complete migration, the device can be removed by laparoscopy or by laparotomy. In cases of incomplete migration, combined hysteroscopy and laparoscopy is performed to decide whether the device can be removed by hysteroscopy or by laparotomy.
