Isolation of Haemophilus ducreyi from a chancroid in Papua New Guinea

Haemophilus ducreyi was isolated from a patient who presented with a genital ulcer at the Port Moresby Clinic for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. This provides documentation for the occurrence of chancroid in Papua New Guinea. The differentiation of this disease from donovanosis is discussed.
