[Central hemodynamic status of alcoholism patients]

Central hemodynamic status was assessed in 110 alcoholic patients at rest and after rationed submaximal bicycle ergometric exercise. A direct relationship was established between central hemodynamic parameters and the stage of alcoholism as well as the duration of alcohol abuse. Hemodynamic changes in response to rationed exercise are the most demonstrative. They can be regarded as pathological cardiovascular adaptation of alcoholics to physical stress. Central hemodynamic changes are more dependent on the duration of alcohol abuse than on the stage of alcoholism.
