    Chlamydia trachomatis is frequently found in patients with Reiter's syndrome (RS). Antibody detection in RS patients suggests a significant role for this bacterium, warranting further investigation into Chlamydia's involvement in RS.

    Background:

    • Reiter's syndrome (RS) is a form of reactive arthritis.
    • The etiology of RS is not fully understood, but infectious agents are suspected.
    • Chlamydia trachomatis is a known cause of sexually transmitted infections.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To review the existing evidence on the role of Chlamydia trachomatis in the pathogenesis of Reiter's syndrome.
    • To assess the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis infection in patients diagnosed with RS.
    • To evaluate the immunological response to Chlamydia trachomatis in RS patients.

    Main Methods:

    • Review of scientific literature and clinical studies.
    • Analysis of data from urethral smear examinations for Chlamydia trachomatis.
    • Serological testing using microimmunofluorescence assays to detect antibodies against C. trachomatis.
