[Uristoma and the psyche]

Patients with ileal conduit urinary diversion have a changed body image. They have to cope with this problem. The inner-psychic solution may be mature or pathological. The physician and the nursing staff are confronted with questions concerning the psychic integration of the stoma. Possibilities of support and help are discussed.
