The mucosal immunologic network

As with all immune responses, those in the gastrointestinal tract can be categorized as both humoral and cellular. I shall review the structural and anatomic basis for the cellular circuitry underlying the mucosal immune network, and review the T cell compartment in the epithelium, including its possible function and the relationship between these lymphoid cells and structures and intestinal mast cells.
