    Summary

    Lithium chloride (LiCl) pretreatment reduced mortality in mice exposed to nitrogen dioxide (NO2) toxicity. LiCl may protect against NO2 injury by stabilizing cell membranes and modulating pulmonary responses.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the protective effects of short-term lithium chloride (LiCl) intake against NO2 toxicity in mice.
    • To examine the impact of LiCl and NO2 exposure on liver enzyme activities, specifically alcohol dehydrogenase (L-ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenases (L-ALDH).
