[Computed tomography of Paget's disease of the hip]
Abstract:
Paget's disease of the hip has been studied by computed tomography in 53 instances. The changes in the bone are defined (sclerotic, trabecular, nodular and lacunar-erosive type). Changes in the joints, consisting of widening, deformity and coincidental arthritic manifestations are differentiated. A special type of change in the joint consists of narrowing of the anterior and posterior aspects, with widening of the central portion. Acetabular protrusion (60.4%) is more common than previously recognised; coexisting arthritic changes were found 69.8%.
