    Summary

    A new fluorogenic substrate assay for antithrombin III (AT III) shows high correlation with existing methods. This assay identified lower AT III levels in patients with vascular disease, fractures, and thrombosis.

    Background:

    • Antithrombin III (AT III) is a critical regulator of coagulation.
    • Accurate measurement of AT III levels is essential for managing thrombotic disorders.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare a novel fluorogenic substrate assay for antithrombin III (AT III) with established clotting and radial immunodiffusion methods.
    • To evaluate the clinical utility of the fluorogenic substrate assay in patient populations with vascular disease, fractures, and thrombosis.
