Demographic and professional characteristics of Texas optometrists

Texas optometrists must renew their license annually. From information obtained during the renewal process, demographic and professional characteristics of all active civilian optometrists in Texas as of June 1981 were studied. Population data from the 1980 U.S. census were used to calculate prevalence ratios. Data were examined for the state as a whole and for each health service area (HSA).
