[Salmonella fyris in a dog]

Salmonella fyris was isolated from a three-month-old Dutch sheep dog showing symptoms of enteritis. This was the first time that this uncommon serotype of Salmonella was isolated from an animal in the Netherlands. The infection could not be traced to its source.
